Music For Newtown unites the music community in support of the victims' families, the first responders, and the community of Newtown, CT after the tragedy at Sandy Hook Elementary School 12-14-12.
January 22- 29, 2014 Music For Newtown will hold its 2nd auction where 100% of the proceeds will benefit the “Resiliency Center of Newtown.” The Resiliency Center of Newtown offers long-term healing to those impacted by the tragic events of December 14, 2012 to help these individuals reach their full potential, and is a Program of Tuesday's Children, a 501c3 non-profit organization or Resiliency Center of Newtown is a program of Tuesday's Children. The center is a welcoming place where people feel comfortable connecting with others and with appropriate services to assist in the healing process. Services offered are free and confidential.
Music For Newtown held its first auction March 2013 which included 96 items donated from musicians. Some of the items were tickets to Tim McGraw’s show, autographed guitars from The Eagles, 3 Doors Down, Colbie Caillat, and John Mayer. Blink 182 signed bass, autographed Jack Johnson ukulele, signed drumheads from Rush and Of Monsters and Men. There were also numerous signed CDs and vinyl in the auction from artists like fun., Jewel, Five For Fighting, Owl City, Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, Gotye, Florence and The Machine. Signed T-shirts were donated by both Austin Mahone and Cimorelli. Eddie Vedder signed a limited edition tour poster for the auction.
The auction raised $35,545.26 for the “Sandy Hook School Support Fund.”
Shipping charges range from $5- 25. Additional shipping charges will be added for any items that need to be shipped Internationally
